Empress Bulblax 1:
Difficulty: Easy
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
Really easy, wake it up by throwing one Pikmin on it, call it back when it's awake. Then just throw Pikmin on it, when it begins to shake, call them off, it will start rolling back and forth and will stop after about 3 rolls. Repeat.
Fact: If your Pikmin are hitting the Empress Bulblax while it's shaking them off, it won't take damage from the attacks.
Burrowing Snargret:
Difficulty: Easy
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
Get your Reds or Purples and awaken it. If it comes out of the ground fast, run away and wait until it goes back in. Keep doing this until he gets stuck. When he does, quickly throw your Pikmin on it's head. If you're lucky, it will be defeated on the first go.
Fact: You can't swarm it's head like in the first Pikmin. I've even tried it, the Pikmin just get caught on the body.
Beady Long Legs:
Difficulty: Easy
Best Pikmin to use: Yellows
How to beat:
Easier than in the first Pikmin. Get about 10-20 Yellows and awaken it. Try to stay in the middle of it's ground stomps and throw your Pikmin at it's head when it squats, it should go down pretty quick.
Fact: You can actually use Purples to defeat this boss in a flash. Just get about 20 of them and throw them on it's foot, it should die quickly actually. This kind of ruins my fact of Yellows being the best choice for this boss.
Emperor Bublax:
Difficulty: Easy
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
MUCH easier than in the first game, just get your Purples and throw them on it's face as fast as you can when it's in the ground. It should die before attacking. If you don't have Purples, get some Reds or any other type of Pikmin avaliable and throw them on it's face when it's awakened, when it jumps, call them off and run away. Repeat.
Fact: The Emperor Bulblax is somewhat smaller than in the first game, it also doesn't have the plant like substances on it's back. This probably means that these Emperor Bulblaxes are younger than the one in the first game.
Giant Breadbug:
Difficulty: Easy
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
The most best way to defeat the Giant Breadbug is to kill one of the Breadbugs or Anode Beetles in the area, wait until it grabs it. When it does this, get your Pikmin to pull it back all the way to the Research Pod, when the object or creature is sucked into it, the Giant Breadbug will go flying down and will lose half it's HP, do this again and it will be dead. You can also throw Purples on it to do a bit of damage by the way.
Pileated Snagret:
Difficulty: Medium
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
When it comes out of the ground fast, run away and try to get out of it's sight so it goes back into the ground. Otherwise, it will follow you around. Once you get it to come out slowly, quickly start throwing Pikmin on it's head like the Burrowing Snagret, you will have to do this many more times though. Half this fight is luck.
Fact: If you go into Piklopedia and you select the Pileated Snagret in the Valley of Repose, there is a chance it will come out inside the ground. Weird huh?
Ranging Bloyster:
Difficulty: Easy
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
Start switching leaders, this will cause the Ranging Bloyster to get confused and then change into the color of the other character. Keep using this method to get to the Ranging Bloyster's tail. When you are at it, switch again right before it finds out which leader is leading. This will give you even more time to attack it's tail, if you do it correct, it should die in the first or second go. You can also just throw Purples on it quickly to defeat it. to be more careful doing that, use the Leader strategy.
Empress Bulblax 2:
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
The longest but most safe way is to throw up all your Pikmin on the ledge beside where you start. Remember to kill the Bulborb Larva that is close to base or else it will eat your Pikmin, the others are stuck on the walls. Once you have got all the Pikmin on the ledge and none are falling, get one leader to guide all the Larvae to the wall, once you have done that, the Empress should have breed the maximum amount of Larvae and go to sleep. (If it doesn't, just wait longer) Then when they are all trying to get your Pikmin on the ledge, run around the area and go up on the cliff with the Pikmin, now call them to go with you to fight the main boss. Do the same thing you did on the first part. Since the maximum amount of larvae is already out, she can't breed. After you defeat her. You can go and punch all the larvae with one of the leaders.
Man-At-Legs
Difficulty: Easy-Hard
Best Pikmin to use: Purples or Blues (Blues if in fighting in the Hole of Heroes)
How to beat:
One of the harder boss in the game, get about 20 of your strongest Pikmin. Leave the others behind the wall. Then go awaken the boss, start throwing Pikmin on it until it shakes, now run away back to the wall for protection from it's laser guided blaster until he stops shooting. Repeat.
Waterwraith:
Difficulty: Easy
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
When he starts moving towards you, throw a Purple Pikmin on him, he will then become purple and be vulnerable to all attacks, swarm his stone rollers and he will be harmless, now at this point, just beat him up. He can't harm you.
Fact: In Piklopedia, if you petrify it when it falls from the sky, it will only do so to the wheels. Then it will do it to him when he lands on them. Now since the wheels have been pertrified before the Waterwraith it's self, it will break out before him. Then do it again before the Waterwraith escapes too. If you did it right, he should be trying to pick up his wheels. It's quite funny.
Theres another thing you can do to him thats like this, but it requires timing and it's kind of hard for me to explain, so I'll just leave it to you to find out. Sorry.
Segmented Crawbster:
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
Awaken him, then when he starts rolling at you, guide him into a wall, this will knock him out and cause and egg and several rocks to come down. Try to avoid the rocks and throw your Pikmin at his glowing stomach, repeat this. He should go down in 1-4 goes.
Empress Bublax 3:
Difficulty: Easy-Hard
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
This time, you will start behind it's....Uh... Lets call it a Spawn Hole. (It's behind to be more simple) So you will have to punch the larvae coming out of it with the leader, then either do the following:
- Use a leader to distract the babies so you can get the Pikmin safely to the other side.
- Petrify it and run to the other side.
Ranging Long Legs:
Difficulty: Easy
Best Pikmin to use: Purples
How to beat:
Awaken him, then get your strongest Pikmin (Purples or Reds) and then throw them on his head when he squats the second time, if you do it right, he should walk around while your Pikmin attack it, when he shakes, quickly call them back and run away. Repeat this.
Titan Dweevil:
Difficulty: Easy-Hard
Best Pikmin to use: Yellows
How to beat:
The final boss of the game! First, when get your Yellows because the Shock Therapist, (The electric weapon) is the only one that kills Pikmin instantly. Now aim for the weapons in the following order. When it uses any other weapons than the Shock Therapist, just keep attacking because it can't harm your Pikmin. Run away or evade any other weapon thats used. Also, try to put your other Pikmin behind the geyser for more protection from the Monster Pump.
Now here is the order:
- Monster Pump: Because it has the longest range.
- Flare Cannon: Because it's really quick moving.
- Comedy Bomb: It's a bit annoying to stay in between the gas, but it's not as difficult to dodge the Flare Cannon. (At least in my opinion)
- Shock Therapist: This one should be attacked last because it can't harm your Yellows.
Once you have knocked off all the weapons, get all your Pikmin and finish it off!
Viola! There ya have it, if I missed something or you have a better strategy, feel free to tell me!
